It was a coincidence that Sasu Pirttiperä ended up at Fliq while searching for a job after graduating. How did this guitar-playing and run-loving Master of Science in engineering become the jack of all trades in software development? How does Fliq support Sasu’s ambition to be a better version of himself every day?
Sasu had studied automation and information technology at the University of Vaasa and was looking for the next direction for his career after graduation. During his studies, he had worked one and a half years in a large organization, which made him now interested in the lower hierarchy of a smaller company while searching for a job.
– It was another software company that recommended Fliq to me while I was looking for a job. I noted that especially the long-term plans I had for employment went really well hand in hand with Fliq’s plans, Sasu remembers.
Currently Sasu works as a Fullstack Developer at Fliq. The role is very versatile and broad: everyday tasks include, for example, coding new functionalities on the server and the user interface as well as refining existing functionalities of the system and user interface.
– You could call me the jack of all trades of this system. In my work, I learn to know every corner of the system, which develops a good intuition for it. Solving problems and developing new functionalities is more innovative, when I know the system as a whole inside and out, Sasu says about his role at Fliq.
The versatile role that Sasu likes is combined with a good atmosphere where unnecessary hierarchy is not present. Sasu also enjoys Fliq’s open and international atmosphere: your language skills naturally develop when work is done mainly in English.
Sasu’s guideline in life is to be a better version of himself every day. This also applies to work, as one of the motivators in Sasu’s everyday work is the ambition to always develop himself. Sasu is also motivated by having the opportunity to create the best possible and truly useful products for customers in projects. He enjoys being able to help customers and colleagues through his work.
– My future goal is to develop myself and continue to get better at my work. In this sense, Fliq is an excellent employer, because here you will always get a suitable amount of responsibility and challenge. You can learn so much here when you’re not afraid to take on a little challenge, Sasu thinks.
